About Our Research
The NanoFast research group studies different forms of energy (chemical, visible photon, x-ray photon) and the way this energy is exchanged between nanomaterials themselves or with their environment. Nanomaterials offer the ability to harness this energy and use it to facilitate chemical reactions.
This energy redirection can be controlled precisely on the nanometer scale. Prof. Guo's team has also discovered that nanomaterials can catalyze reactions 10 to 100 times better than conventional catalysts. The effect is especially strong at the high temperatures of processes used for energy production.
